Club Roomer Bonaire, a foundation which benefits the local Bonairian people has found sponsors to provide three junior footballteams with a new uniform.

Bertus Holkema, an ex-prof football player, friend of Club Roomer sponsored in cooperation with hotel Roomer in Belnem new outfits for the young local football players.

The outfit was handed over by Eddie Thielman and Martin Franken to the youngsters last friday during the Happy Jazzy Hour at hotel Roomer.

What an evening we had!

The Jim Gilmour Band was ready to perform despite the power outage that had plagued Belnem since morning. The generators at Roomers ran all day to keep food and beverages cold. The charcoal grills glowed as Shirley cooked the evening dinners. Patrons arrived to enjoy the festivities and support the fund-raiser by candlelight! They bought tokens for drinks, dinner tickets and settled in for the music.

We could have done it!

Then the power came on amid cheers . . . and went off!

Fortunately, WEB got it going again, and we shared a musical, fun-filled evening that lasted late into the night, despite the Band's early morning departure flight! Thanks Jim Gilmour Band!

Jim returned to Bonaire for the fourth time to visit family and entertain the residents of the island, and to donate a finale concert as a fund-raiser for Club Roomer Bonaire. This year, Jim Gilmour, musician, singer, songwriter, and sound engineer, brought his entire 5-man band and their families to share in the wonder of Bonaire. In addition to Jim on vocals and acoustic guitar, Ryan Dubois performed on bass, Paul Carrocio on drums, Charlie Rockwell on keyboard, and Jeff Poremski on guitar and vocals.

Local musicians joined the band, and we realized what a talented population we have in Terence de Haseth on guitar, Gaby Mercera on drums, Jasper Blokzijl on keyboard, Benji Schaub on guitar and the wonderful vocalist, Sylvia Maniscalco.

Even some Bonairean kid performed. Ethan got in the groove on the bongos as Noa kept beat on the tambourine!
